Professional Experience
Adobe Systems | Bengaluru, India Senior User Experience Designer | Oct 2012 – Present (12+ years)
Pioneering Generative AI Experience: Owned the end-to-end UX design for a suite of 4 flagship Generative AI features (2026 release). My core mission was to demystify this powerful technology for a hobbyist audience, designing simple and trustworthy experiences critical to driving the adoption of Adobe's most strategic new features.
Impact: Adaptation of the AI features:
Remove Tool (GenAi)- Unique users: 44.4%. Successful use of the feature: 64.2%.
Depth Blur (AI ML Model)- Unique users: 8.6%. Task completion by users: 23.8%
Replace Background (GenAi on Web): 5.2%, Successful output creation – 85.1%. Creation downloaded by users - 18.7%.
Spearheaded the first successful multi-year modernization of the Elements suite, successfully repositioning it as a leading hobbyist application and garnering significantly improved user reviews and positive industry reception. Succeeding where numerous prior idealistic proposals had stalled. My success was rooted in a deeply pragmatic philosophy: instead of a rigid, perfect design, I championed a balanced, phased strategy that was achievable. This required shepherding the vision through complex tradeoffs with engineering, product, and business leaders to ensure the design was not just for presentation, but would actually ship. The result was a widely-supported solution that repositioned the product and garnered significantly improved user reviews.
Key Metrics:
+12.4% Trial-to-Paid Conversion | +19.3% Workflow Completion | -26.8% Time-to-First-Export/Save
Proactive Vision & Product Leadership: Independently identified a critical gap in user activation and initiated a strategic project to overhaul the 'First Mile Experience.' Championed this design-led vision through workshops with leadership and engineering, resulting in its formal adoption as a key priority on the product roadmap.
Led end-to-end UX strategy and execution for multiple consumer and enterprise products like Adobe Captivate, Adobe FrameMaker, and RoboHelp, directly impacting millions of users and contributing to sustained market leadership. My approach prioritizes collaborative, iterative design integrated deeply with engineering and product management.
Product Leadership & Vision: Guided the UX vision. Actively shaped the future product roadmap by identifying strategic opportunities from user feedback, competitive analysis, and direct community engagement, influencing feature prioritization for major releases.
End-to-End Design Execution: Owned the complete design lifecycle for major features. This included conceptualizing new ideas, creating detailed workflows and wireframes, building interactive prototypes for validation, and conducting user interviews and focus groups to refine solutions.
Deep Engineering & QA Partnership: Forged a uniquely collaborative partnership with Engineering by participating in the daily development process. Made pragmatic, real-time design decisions and negotiated for user-centric enhancements, ensuring a smooth translation from concept to code. Partnered closely with the Quality Engineering team to ensure the final implementation was true to the design intent.
Strategic Impact: Enhanced the crucial "First Mile Experience" by proposing and designing a new, intuitive onboarding flow, directly addressing a key business goal of improving user activation and retention.
Intrapreneurship & Innovation: Independently conceived, designed, coded, and launched "Swing," an enterprise carpooling mobile app. The app was adopted as a free service for Adobe employees, demonstrating initiative and product ownership beyond the core job description.
